Linen Waffle Towels: A Cooler, Softer Alternative for Sauna and Bath

Linen has a texture nothing else quite matches — a little cooler to the touch, a little more matte, with a natural, slightly irregular surface that softens beautifully with every wash. We weave it into the same honeycomb waffle structure as our cotton towels, but the result feels distinctly different in the hand.

The fabric: a linen-cotton blend

Our linen waffle towels are made from a 57% linen / 43% cotton blend. Pure linen fabric shrinks and wrinkles readily, so we blend in cotton and pre-wash the fabric at high temperature before it's sewn — this keeps shrinkage in normal washing to a minimum and means you won't need to iron the finished towel. Wash at 40–60°C and tumble dry if you prefer; care is just as easy as our cotton range.

• 40 × 50 cm — face towel
• 50 × 70 cm — hand towel
• 70 × 150 cm — bath towel
• 100 × 150 cm — bath sheet
• 100 × 200 cm — large sauna or bath sheet

Why linen suits the sauna

Linen fibres are naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, so a linen-blend towel doesn't cling to warm, damp skin the way a heavier terry towel can. That makes it a natural choice for the sauna bench, as well as for anyone who simply prefers a lighter, cooler towel for everyday bathing.

Our linen waffle towel is currently available in Deep Blue, with our linen sauna towel offered in Off White and Brown — three natural, versatile tones that sit easily alongside our wider waffle colour range. More shades are in development.
